There's Gold in The Vault

Belinda and Rico

Love is golden and if you are celebrating your wedding day in a restored bank building, the meaning goes deeper. Such was the regal reception for Belinda and Rico who chose gold and navy as their primary colors.

Their wedding was held at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Carrollwood, while the reception was at The Vault in Downtown Tampa.

We were delighted to find out that one of our past clients, Thelma Uzonyi, was a bridesmaid.

Social hour was held in the small park adjacent to the reception site. Although Belinda had reservations about activities outdoors in August, the shade and breeze off the channel created a pleasant atmosphere.

For the main reception, guests entered into the lobby of The Vault where they signed in and retrieved their place cards.

Breath-taking views of the main reception floor were captured from the balcony where the bridal party could relax prior to the start of introductions.

Belinda even had time to read through a special note before descending to the reception.

Although the couple had chosen to sit at a sweetheart table, they had their wedding party members close by at traditional long head tables on either side.

They alternated guest table centerpieces between romantic tall florals and our in-house white lanterns filled with fanciful ivory and pink garden blooms. Navy floor length cloths were accented with our gold charger plates.

They chose a traditional wedding cake from Publix Greenwise Bakery and the family provided a special groom's cake.

We decorated the buffet station with a modern feel in gold, navy, and white.

The venue furnished the lighted bar and various lounge furnishings that surrounding the dance floor.

Guests enjoyed the Photo Booth located inside the actual bank vault.

First course included a plated salad of Wild Baby Greens with Cranraisins, Walnuts, and Raspberry Viniagrette dressing. The buffet dinner featured our popular large dish Paella.

Thanks, Belinda and Rico for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day!

When You Know You're Not in Kansas Anymore . . .

Holly and Ray
St. Petersburg Woman's Club

Holly and Ray were a fun couple who planned their wedding around non-stop food and activities for their guests. The couple met in Kansas while Holly was in graduate school and Ray was stationed at Ft. Riley. With this in mind, the celebration took on a light-heart "spin" focusing on Kansas in a West Coast Florida location.

They chose a glamorous combination of gold and navy with the use of different textures on head, cake, and guest tables.

The cuisine reflected both Kansas and the international food delights the coupled shared through travel. In fact, Ray's proposal came right after returning from a wedding in Kansas:

"He had a quote ready about traveling and if you can travel the world and are still in love- you should get married," recalled Holly.

Their wedding day started with getting ready at the Woman's Club. Holly worked with us and event planner, Vicki of Beachangels weddings, on the many customized features of her wedding. This included signage, a simple ceremony backdrop, collectibles, and small display items.

The ceremony was held in front of a large tree with a peek of Coffee Pot Bayou in the background. A simple, wispy drape with small dangling orbs was the only decor.

The cocktail hour and subsequent main reception were filled with many different food options. Besides hand-passed appetizers, we featured three custom Kansas cheese presentations pared with the client's selected wines. Dinner reflected a variety of cuisines including Italian, Southern, Mediterranean, and Asian.

Holly chose to utilize an eclectic collection of flower vessels for her centerpieces and votive holders. They were filled with fresh loose flowers she provided. Gold chiavari chairs were rented and we hand-tied navy satin ties to each.
