Maroon and Gold Wedding Starring Alexa and Kip

Alexa and Kip's wedding day at the Tampa Firefighters Museum, could be compared to a movie shoot. There was glamour, numerous "set changes," and a teary moment or two.

It reflected back on Kip's proposal to Alexa. "Kip rented a giant, inflatable movie screen and surprised me in our backyard," Alexa recalled. "He played a slideshow of us, and my favorite movie, 'Love Actually.' He decorated with candles, and had all of my favorite movie snacks."

The couple's wedding day began with getting ready pictures at a nearby hotel. The second level ballroom at the Firefighter's Museum first served as the ceremony area with pre-set guest tables hidden behind a draped area. Our white carriage lanterns were used along the aisle with gorgeous floral accents from Fleurtations Florals.

Guests entered through the front door and made their way up the garland-laden staircase to the ceremony.

No detail was over-looked. From toiletry baskets in the restroom to kippets and a sign indicating its significance for the Jewish tradition, they thought of it all!

Following the ceremony, guests made their way down to the museum area on the first floor for cocktails and hand-passed hors d'oeuvres. The couple designed a memorial table with pictures reflecting on those who could not be there with them that day. Place cards were held in wine corks. Guests were able to tour the museum's artifacts while our staff was busy converting the ceremony area to the reception area. The bride and groom were able to leisurely enjoy their post-ceremony pictures in Downtown Tampa leaving all of the work to us.

Our black wrought iron candle holders were used on the high top cocktail tables. Almost everything from the social hour was transferred to the main reception.

The former ceremony area was transformed in less than an hour and the bar was transferred to an awaiting second one on the second floor. Alexa chose a mixture of long and round guest tables with a huge traditional head table.

Centerpieces alternated between our gold lanterns accented with fresh eucalyptus, and tall glass cylinders filled with dusty rose and white flowers.

Instead of a large formal wedding cake, Alexa and Kip decided on a small cake they cut at their table where everyone could see. Then they offered a huge variety of cakes, pies and pastries for the indulgence of their guests.

At the end of the celebration, we set out sparklers on the main entry tables and the couple was sent on their way in a blaze of fire.

The End.

Wedding Weekend at Southern Plantation Oasis

Leslie and Daniel

When Leslie and Daniel started planning their wedding, they searched for locations where they could be surrounded by family and friends in a comfortable, private setting. When they found Southern Plantation Oasis in Lutz, their dream for a wedding weekend had come true.

Not only could up to they host 12 guests overnight, they could accommodate 100+ guests for their ceremony and reception, both on site. For their visiting family (many from outside the country), it would be a fun-filled weekend with lots of outdoor activities to keep everyone busy. One of the best aspects of Southern Plantation Oasis, is its convenient location right off the Veteran's Expressway, just 15 minutes north of Tampa International Airport. It is tucked in between several natural fed lakes and mid-sized equestrian farms in the rural area of Lutz.

Leslie and Daniel loved the tropical pool with its waterfall plus all of the picture-perfect backdrops within the property. Their photographer, Brentwood Photography, captured many spectacular photos throughout the wedding day including with the horses next door and the dock on the nearby lake.

The couple hosted a casual rehearsal dinner the night before their late March wedding. In between enjoying the pool and yard games, guests were able to get formally dressed in many spacious areas of the house.

Here are Leslie and Daniel's wedding day glimpses!

A huge master suite on the second floor of the house, had plenty of room for all of the girls to get hair and make up done along with a bit of relaxation.

A tree-fringed pasture was the perfect location for the ceremony. We utilized white wood guest chairs first there and then relocated them to an adjoining blacktop area. There was no need to rent a dance floor and seating was "under the stars."

Our rounded garden arbor was decorated with fresh flowers provided by Artistic Floral.

We started out with the white garden chairs placed at the ceremony and then they were re-located to the reception area around guest tables. Our square mirrors, wrought iron candle holders and burlap runners graced the guest tables. The bride furnished an assortment of fresh and silk flowers/greenery that we utilized in the centers of the tables.

Carla had many special decorative features she entrusted us to place where needed. We loved these crocheted hanging pieces for the bride and groom's chairs.

The front porches were perfect for staging all of the guests for a group picture in front of the house.
