Love is Sweet

Ann and Danny

I had never met Ann or Danny prior to the warm, breezy early May afternoon of their rehearsal at their venue - The Sweet Escape themed vacation rental just north of Clermont.

We had spent the nine months prior communicating regularly via emails, phone calls, and text messages. They lived in the Cleveland area and felt comfortable planning a destination wedding where many of their family and friends could stay on site or close by at local hotels. That comfort level turned into a successful celebration themed around the candy/ice cream theme of the venue: Love is Sweet!

Of course, there were many photo opps inside and outside of the house. From the cotton candy in one of the bedrooms to the pool in the shape of an ice cream cone, Ann and Danny's fun-natures made the location perfect for their wedding weekend.

Midway in our planning, Ann expressed concerns over incorporating fresh florals into her personal wedding items and centerpieces. Since she had chosen a colorful candy colored motif that complimented her attendants' mauve gowns, she decided that she and friends would DIY silk flower bouquets, corsages, boutonnaires, and arrangements. This worked perfectly for their all outdoor celebration and the adorable centerpieces that featured large sugar ice cream cones inside of our glass cylinders.

The day of the wedding, a huge storm passed through the area prior to the start of the wedding. Then the power went out until minutes before the ceremony was to begin. Everyone took everything in stride … the happy, fun atmosphere had a charming effect on bridal party and guests alike. We started nuptials just a few minutes late.  Then we had a break long enough to get the guest tables re-covered and decorated.

Here are some of our favorite images from Ann and Danny's super sweet wedding day.

Pre-wedding pictures were a blast!

The cocktail hour and main reception was held on the pool terrace. The bar had an ice cream soda shop theme.

For napkin rings, we used candy bracelets. Champagne was poured into out glasses filled with cotton candy.

A memory display featured past pictures of guests who had been invited to the wedding.
