Gatsby-Styled 30th Birthday Party

Vintage styling for a special birthday

Gatsby theming isn't just for weddings! We worked with Ashley Bell in hosting her all outdoor 30th birthday at a friend's house. When she told me about all of the DIY and customizations she wanted, I was skeptical. But Ashley followed through on every single aspect of her celebration even down to hiring a professional photographer to capture many of her special moments with 30 family members and friends.

We started with a "fact-findng" session at our studio where we picked out several of our in-house containers for her guest table centerpieces. Since she started "collecting" black and gold items right after Halloween, she stumbled on some awesome deals. She chose a duo of gold swirl table runners with round mirrors and gold charger plates.

When guests arrived, they were greeted with traditional birthday fare with a sign-in portrait and place cards Ashley styled herself.

The main event was held around the pool where we butler-passed many of Ashley's favorite finger foods ranging from Mini Baked Brie Squares with a Raspberry Sauce, Watermelon and Buffalo Cheese Skewers, Deep Fried Mac and Cheese Bites, Mini Meatballs and Spring Rolls.

Our gold candlelabras decorated the high top tables for cocktail hour.

Ashley made sure to acknowledge every guest's attendance with a thank you note at their place setting.

Guest tables were decorated all in black with gold accents. Gold chiavalri chairs had black sashes intertwined.

We had a lot of creative freedom decorating the food stations.

More of Ashley's favorite foods were "action-packed" with fresh station cooking. We featured a stir fry Chinese station, chop bbq pork station with three different bbq sauces, and a torched French Onion Soup station.

Lots of memories were captured by the photographer.

And with Ashley's career and passion being pastries, her cake and candy table was over the top. Cake and cupcakes from Sweet Tweets Cakery.

Cheers to Ashley on a memorable birthday!
