Pink and Gray Celebration at the Chelsea Center

Mindy and Josh
Sarasota, FL

We became involved in Mindy and Josh's wedding just two months before their special day in July. Both resided out-of-the-area, and Mindy's mom and grandma were left with the task of handling all of the details in her absence.

While many families do amazing things "DIY-style" for weddings, I was amazed at how much was accomplished in such a short time. The Chelsea Center is located on the campus of a Sarasota Catholic Church. Mindy's ceremony was non-denominational and celebrated outdoors behind the center.

Here's some of our favorite images from this beautiful summer wedding for 120 guests.

The Chelsea Center is one of Sarasota's hidden treasures with its floor to ceiling windows looking out on a lush tropical landscape on three sides. It does have high ceilings, but a spacious feel to its interior entry ways and carpeted main ballroom.

Josh's family constructed the large wood cross that served as a backdrop for the ceremony facing the pond and fountain. Our tall black candle stands along the aisle, held galvanized buckets of fresh baby's breath furnished by the Mindy's mom.

The center has several large classroom spaces perfect for "all day" getting ready options for guys and girls. Mindy and her attendants had a relaxing four hours getting hair and make-up done. She even had time to spend with one of her "special bridal party" members below.

Mindy and Josh opted not to see each other prior to the ceremony. But their photographer was able to capture this pose with each around a corner.

Mindy was escorted down the aisle by her grandfather. We loved the family's sense of humor in making him part of her wedding day "Something's."

What an under-taking: window panes listed guest seating arrangements on the sign in table. Instead of a traditional guest book, guests were urged to sign rocks.

During social hour, guests enjoyed our signature cheddar spread presentation.

Guest table details were many. From burlap runners with lace to honey pot guest favors, the tables were full of interesting vintage features. Centerpieces alternated between florist arrangements and multiple stems of fresh hydrangea furnished by Mindy's family. All containers were part of our in-house inventory at no extra charge.

Mindy's and Josh's interests were captured in pictures on table number cards.

Although there was a small display cake, added donuts and cupcakes were offered at the same table.

We loved the lavishing use of pink and gray with our in-house silk florals and containers. We were able to inter-mingle burlap roses and spanish moss into the table scape.

The large head table featured LED flower stem lights.
