A Destination Wedding with a "Firey" Appeal

Kimberly and Jason at Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast

Kimberly and Jason came to us from a referral from one of our past couples, Stephany and Elgin. I vividly remember  Kimberly first thoughtful email that was pages long describing her thoughts on her celebration that revolved around hers and Jason's life adventures as a couple. This focus in particular was their annual participation in Burning Man festival set each summer in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada.

That is also where Jason proposed to Kim amid the community of friends in their encampment called "Burning Man Studios." Although both were busy attorneys, they diligently planned their March wedding keeping their focus on fun and merriment for both adults and children who would be in attendance.

This ranged from bounce house to an "I Spy" game during the main reception. AND there was surprise entertainment toward the end of the evening. Kimberly and Jason loved the idea that they could relax and enjoy family and friends in the intimate atmosphere of the bed and breakfast throughout the weekend.

Jason's son, Clayton, played a special role in accompanying his dad down the aisle and participating in the ceremony.

They incorporated some spiritual elements -one of which was giraffes - into their ceremony and reception. And instead of having a traditional flower girl spreading petals, they had an adult friend handing out stems of flowers to the guests right before Kimberly went down the aisle.

Several shades of blue with a touch of silver and fuchsia were chosen as the official wedding colors.

Here's a peak into Kimberly and Jason's unique celebration:

The ceremony setting faced the shores of the Manatee River (front lawn of the bed and breakfast).

Social hour was held along the back side of the house where guests wrote special notes to the bride and groom while enjoying cocktails and hand-passed appetizers.

The main reception spanned the back patio area with the buffet set up nearby inside the house.

The children and "those young at heart" had an activity table with butcher block paper for drawing and playing games.

Surprise entertainment toward the end of the night included fire dancers!
