Wedding Evokes Special Memories

Phyllis and Joe
Bayshore Gardens

We are so fortunate to host so many second marriages. It is heart-warming to witness that special gathering of children, other family, and friends for this "second chance " at love.

This was certainly the case for the spring wedding of  Phyllis and Joe in Bradenton. Their entire wedding party was comprised of their grown children (and a son-in-law).

The couple chose the Bayshore Gardens Clubhouse as their setting because Joe grew up in the community. It was a familiar and comfortable place for a gathering of over 100 of their family and friends. The back lawn featured a huge towering tree that served as their backdrop for the ceremony.

Daisies were Phyllis' favorite flowers, so it was easy to incorporate them into her color palette of bright yellow and navy blue.

After the ceremony, we offered hand-passed hors d'oeuvres on the back patio so guests didn't "peek" at the remarkable transformation of the clubhouse. Tidbits included our mini meatballs with pretzel handles, seasonal fruit skewers, mini quiche, brushetta and spanikopita.

Phyllis and Joe were truly fortunate to be close friends with the talented owners of Affairs in the Air, a premiere Sarasota decorating company. Chiffon drapery, twinkling ceiling lights, and large illuminated Chinese lanterns created a magical look inside the clubhouse.

The venue only had 8 ft. long tables, so a more inviting setting was created by putting two together side by side to seat 12. Alternating yellow and navy napkins lined the table and Phyllis provided mason jars with flowers for the centers of the navy runners.

Mini cupcakes and other sweets were displayed below a formal small wedding cake - all provided by one of Phyllis' work friends.

Guest place cards were inserted into wine corks and displayed on a special family table.

Congratulations to Phyllis and Joe on their special celebration!
