Sometimes the Best Decisions are Worth the Wait

When it comes to wedding planning every couple has a unique approach.

Such was the case with Rocio and Westley.  When the groom is deployed most of the year leading up to the wedding, there are some special challenges.

Rocio booked with us almost a full year before her wedding. She made the 2. 5 hour trip up from Ft. Myers by herself: West was stationed in the Middle East and all of her family and bridal party members lived out of state.

Besides knowing the location, Rocio brought us a few other key pieces
of information for her first meeting:

1) She wanted a color scheme of Tiffany Blue-Aqua and Red.
2) She also was having a friend do her special wedding cake design which played on her new last name, "Bailey."
3) And lastly she stated she HATED making decisions.

Thus the next time we met to talk about specifics wasn't until January when West was officially in the country. Even though the wedding was less than two months away, the decisions came quickly and firmly during this design meeting.

I found both to be on spot with mutual decisions about centerpieces, the menu, and timeline. We fashioned their sample table during that visit and they left with everything firmly in place . . . except for the guest count.

Rocio was certain that she was looking at 100 or less wedding guests. As it turned out, two weeks before her wedding, the guest count swelled to 165. Also, there was some other surprising news: Rocio found out they were having another unexpected guest: a baby.

Here's Rocio and West's spring wedding and reception at the Kapok:

Maranda Earl, a friend of Rocio's from Ft. Myers made the red velvet cupcakes which were interspersed in between mini bottles of Bailey's Irish Cream.
