Purple and Orange Creates a Splash at Tampa Bay Watch

Christie and Jean

Planning a wedding with a client is 2500 miles away isn't uncommon any more. But when the client makes her only trip from Washington State to St. Pete just 10 days before her celebration, that was the challenge.

Being the communicative bride that she was, Christie made our job as long-distance planner and caterer easy.

Her fiance, Jean, was stationed in the Army so he was not able to fully participate in the planning. Christie's mom lived in Sarasota and was able to be some of her "eyes" and "ears" for acquiring other wedding services AND attending our client open houses.

Pinterest and many exchanges of emails and phone calls , helped us develop a sense of teamwork in incorporating her colors of eggplant purple and bright orange. Christie's main focus was rustic seaside with a many natural fiber elements.

With the assistance of our event designer, Bradley Dempsey, Christie felt confident her ideas could be translated into reality without hesitation.

She chose to utilize our black lanterns with moss, polished rocks, and assorted loose flower heads in fall colors. She also collected wine bottles, cut out the bottoms, and added candles as part of her table decor.

Table numbers were burnished into small pieces of wood pieces and Christie furnished oil "candles" instead of wax in keeping with her natural look.

When Christie arrived in the Tampa Bay area, we immediately set up an on-site meeting for Tampa Bay Watch. Only minor logistics were changed as we focused on the beautiful outdoor weather and how well her colors fit into the November "seascape."

The day arrived and Christie felt at ease as she utilized the classroom area of the Watch to put finishing touches on her "getting ready" tasks.

The team from Shakespeare Photography was busy capturing all of the special details of day: from the adorable flower girl and ringbearer to close-ups of her gown.

Christie and Jean's vision of a ceremony backdrop ended up being two whiskey barrels simply adorned with potted fall plants.

The gorgeous November sunshine made an all outdoor social hour possible on the upper deck.

The couple chose a colorful palette of appetizers ranging from crab claws to an assortment of hand-passed fresh fruits and mini caprese salad skewers.

When it came time for guests to find their tables inside, they found their pre-printed place cards on
 latched wine corks.

Eladio of DeLite Entertainment provided dj services for the evening.

The main dining area was filled with a balance of natural wood elements in flooring and chairs.

Christie and Jean could not wait to enter the reception!

The wedding cake(s) filled an entire table. We elevated the main cake with our wood "riser."

Because of action station cooking limitations at Tampa Bay Watch, we got creative in
our food presentation. The couple and their guests loved our "woodsy" version of a salad bar set against the Gulf of Mexico sunset in the background.

We hope Christie and Jean have many fond memories of their fall destination wedding here on the West Coast of Florida!
