There's no place like home for a wedding!

Kristy and Chris

I vividly remember the first time I did a site visit to Kristy and Chris' Pinellas Point home. They asked me to help them with their vision to hold their tropical-themed reception in their back yard. They had purchased an adjoining lot next door in anticipation of adding on to their house after the wedding.

The pool was lovely with a privacy fence surrounding all three sides. An existing thatched roof arbor also had lots of potential. But grass was sparse, building materials were strewn everywhere, and there was virtually no shrubs or plants anywhere!

I listened to Chris's plans that included pavers, sod installation, and more landscaping. It sounded like a plan, but a very ambitious one for a bride and groom with full time jobs - including that of being parents as well. Several months passed and the couple decided against holding the ceremony at a nearby church. They felt it made more sense to have everything at their house.

Everything came together the two weeks before the wedding. Every single improvement was in place and I was amazed what Chris and Kristy had accomplished.

I am so happy to share these pictures that represent a true labor of love.

Guests arrived from the far side of the house where the ceremony was set up facing the thatched roof tiki hut. We swagged the top with colored fabrics and lined the aisle with our white shepherd hooks and small lanterns. 100 guests attended the wedding.

The bride's sister created a floating centerpiece for the pool.

Guest tables were present at the other end of the back yard near the pool. Chris set up another thatched roof canopy to shade the band - The Caribbean Cowboys.

Ceremony chairs were placed around guest tables during the social hour which was held around the pool and inside a small Florida room that housed the bar. Our servers hand-passed an assortment of small hors d'oeuvres and the couple's signature drink, "Apple Pie Moonshine" was displayed on a special table that later became the dessert station.

Instead of traditional wedding cake, Kristy decided on layers of colorful macarons.

They chose to alternate peach and coral napkins on the guest tables. Instead of regular water glasses, they requested to use our in-house mason jars. A coral and navy set of runners lined the centers of each table along with our white carriage lanterns and simple vase of white and coral flowers.

After dark, the reception was well lit with uplighting and tiki torches. Kudos to Kristy and Chris on this beautiful undertaking that they can enjoy for years to come.

What bride doesn't want a fairy tale wedding? Lauren created her own signature celebration for 200 guests at two locations on a sultry September afternoon. Both locations had special meanings to the couple.

They chose Gaylord Palms for their ceremony. Jeremy had been a part of the construction of  this huge resort located in Kissimmee. It was a dream to hold their celebration there. But they chose the brand new Lake Eva Center in their hometown of Haines City. It is an amazing facility with every modern convenience for any type of celebration.

Hosting the actual ceremony and day prior rehearsal at Gaylord Palms offered many wonderful picture options for Lauren and Jeremy. The climate-controlled arboretum where the ceremony was held assured complete comfort during the mid-afternoon hours.

A lime green and black color scheme created drama for the reception.

The couple's daughter, Alana, was very much a part of the magic of the wedding day. She had just recently injured her foot and was determined to be an active dancer for her parents' wedding day.

Lauren customized every aspect of the wedding from thank you cards at each place setting to embossed favor boxes.

Please enjoy the pictures of the very special celebration.

Cakes by Maggi provided the white/chocolate tiered cake.

Submerged lime green orchid stems were magnified in our 14" vases. Two others in 10 and 7 inch  sizes also dotted the tables.

High top cocktail tables in lobby for social hour.
