Jenn and James

What a happy, fun-loving couple. That's what stood out about Jenn and James. They always had smiles on their faces when we would discuss their wedding. I truly felt their positive attitude carried over to the success of their celebration.

Their lively approach to planning could be seen in every aspect of their celebration . . . from custom sayings naming every guest table to the incorporation of rustic elements like horseshoes, lanterns, and bright yellow flowers everywhere.
And you could see the excitement on their faces during the entire wedding!

When we arrived, every single item we had to place was categorized in well-marked boxes. And there were lots of items that Jenn had spent months designing and collecting.

One of the most helpful things Jen did in her initial Design Questionnaire, was to include many detailed pictures of the flowers that would play a role in her celebration. These were her "blueprint" for the look and feel of her event.

Even though their venue, the St. Pete Beach Community Center, had a bay-side setting, Jenn opted for a casual yet chic country theme.

Because she was so organized, Jenn and her girls relaxed as they got ready in one of the small rooms at the community center. No stress seen in their faces here!

The ceremony was held on the plaza facing Boca Ciega Bay. Jenn and James' young son, Mason, had his special part to play in the wedding as well.

Following the ceremony, guests were invited upstairs to the terrace for the social hour. Jenn and James chose our popular hot beer cheese spread for the appetizers.

We utilized a variety of our in-house decorative fabrics to fit in with Jenn's rustic look. Slate gray was the main color with whisps of bright yellow. We added in gray chevron to compliment the yellow chevron she featured in signage. Yellow polka dots even made an appearance.

A large black lantern served as the card holder.

Instead of regular place cards, Jenn tied guest seating assignments to horseshoe favors.

We brought in our large wagon wheel from the ceremony area and placed it in front of the sweetheart table.

Guest tables were kept simple, yet colorful with alternating gray and yellow napkins. Slate gray runners lined the centers of the tables and our in-house black lanterns were filled with yellow rose petals. A single yellow flower in a small vase added just the right amount of pop to the center of the table.

The bride's cousin made her cake that sat atop our favorite rustic wood elevation.

We continued the rustic look on the buffet with a simple arrangement of natural branches and mini daisies.

Thanks Jenn and James for incorporating so much spirit into your wedding. The pictures say it all!

Crisp Mint Green Wedding at Davis Islands Garden Club

Meredith and A.J.

Being new in town and trying to plan a wedding presented a challenge for Meredith and AJ. On top of it, both had demanding new jobs. Meredith came to me right after she booked Davis Islands Garden Club for her March celebration.

She fell in love with our Treasure Chest Package which included almost all of the services she needed for her wedding. All were our trusted vendors whom we have worked with for the past 5 years or longer.

Her vision for a waterfront garden-style celebration fit perfectly with the venue. Mint green with a touch of silver subtly created the simple elegant feel for both the ceremony and reception.

We simply decorated the gazebo with ivory chiffon swags and the aisle was lined with our white shepherd hooks and small white lanterns.

Meredith loved the idea of signage and specially printed items for her celebration. Traditional programs were handed out to guests as they arrived.

Her mom Tina, had been our original contact. Although she lived out of town, she fully participated in the planning process with her daughter. Below, Tina put final touches on Meredith's hair at a local hotel.

Meredith and the rest of the bridal party arrived at the garden club about an hour early to "chill" and help with some last minute decorating decisions.

Once the ceremony was over, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres on the covered patio behind the building. They had rented curtains and bench cushions from the club and Tina made special pillows to place around the perimeter.

Indoors we were putting the finishing touches on the guest tables as formal pictures were being taken.

Sweet Tweets Cakery designed a small formal cake with matching tiers of mini cupcakes in a variety of flavors. A.J. had his own themed groom's cake in his ala mater University of Tennessee colors.

Lace was a part of Meredith's design ideas. We utilized our in-house lace overlays and skirting on the place card and sweetheart tables along with the buffet and main cake display.

Carmen's Flowers provided all of the fresh floral elements of the wedding: from the bouquets to the centerpieces. Below are her mason jars filled with garden lilies, hydrangea and baby's breath. Meredit chose a simple mint green runner with our round mirror squares. Mint green napkins sat in a tri-fold on our silver charger plates.

DeLite Entertainment handled all of the ceremony and reception music.

Guests were kept entertained that included  a clever photo opp area with small props.

The buffet was stationed in the front entry area offering more dance space in the main room.
